Nelson was born in a small African village where people lived in peace and harmony.
A black person living in Africa would be born in a hospital reserved for black people, taken home on a bus reserved for black people, live in a neighborhood reserved for black people, attend schools reserved for black people, work in jobs reserved for black people, rent a home in towns where only black people lived, and ride trains reserved for black people; otherwise, they would be arrested and sent to prison.
Nelson, who had studied law, entered politics to defend the rights of the black African majority. They never resorted to violence in their protests and never harmed anyone’s life or property. The white rulers of the country, disturbed by these actions, imprisoned Nelson and his friends. After spending 27 years in prison, he regained his freedom and led his people to freedom.
In this book, you will witness Nelson’s life of struggle.
